Technician I
Job Summary
This position is considered an entry-level position for technicians. The basic purpose is to conduct technical activities according to operating procedures/protocols. Receives daily tasking assignments, under supervision. Functions as a member of work team by assisting others and promoting a team-oriented work environment. Performs all work in conformance with applicable regulations. Performs all work in a safe manner. Works within the laboratory or processing environment.
Principal Duties
- Performs single skilled routine tasks; Works within established procedures with moderate a degree of supervision; Applies basic knowledge and skills to complete own work
- Develops skills in basic tasks and procedures within one skill area; May use/handle potentially dangerous chemicals/materials and/or work with potentially hazardous industrial equipment
- Works with others as part of a team
- Communicates own work orally and in writing; As requested provides information/data to supervisor for internal reports
- Reports and treats documentation/data with a high level of integrity and ethics
- Complies with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner; Maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies; Identifies any observed regulatory and safety concerns to supervisors and team member
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- Ability to operate laboratory/process equipment and apparatus
- Ability to learn new technical skills and concepts
- Concise and accurate reporting of technical data and information
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- Appropriate level of understanding of applicable regulations
- May require ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
